NDIS Supports

Story. Skills. Connection.Participation.

Culturally responsive, relational and strengths-based support for people with an active NDIS plan — building skills, confidence, independence, relationships, community connection and participation in the things that matter to you. Our approach starts with the person: their goals, strengths, knowledge, relationships, culture and hopes.

Mentoring | Narrative Practice | Skill Development | Community Connection | Movement

No — I don't have an NDIS plan

This particular pathway is for active NDIS participants. You can still access Ngawilyi — no plan or external referral required.

Narrative Practice

Your story is bigger than the problem. We look to skills, knowledge, relationships, culture, identity, values and hopes — never deficit-based descriptions.

Movement Within Support

Some people connect better while doing something. Where it fits your NDIS goals, movement and recreation can be part of mentoring and skill development.

The activity isn't the goal — what becomes possible through it is.

The focus always remains on your individual NDIS goals and disability-related support needs. Narrative-informed conversations may form part of eligible mentoring, capacity-building and relational supports. Where Narrative Therapy is requested specifically as an NDIS-funded therapy support, we confirm that your funding, the requested support and applicable provider requirements are suitable before the service is confirmed. Movement activities always remain connected to eligible disability-related support — Ngawilyi does not provide exercise physiology, physiotherapy, clinical rehabilitation or NDIS personal training.

No surprises

Know what you're agreeing to before we start.

Our team is growing carefully and intentionally. Practitioner preferences are subject to availability — and a qualification never means a support is automatically claimable; we confirm funding arrangements before services begin.

One last yarn

Therapy doesn't always have to happen in a therapy room.

Some people yarn better sitting together. Some yarn better walking.

Some young people connect while doing something they enjoy.

Sometimes confidence grows through doing.

Sometimes mentoring creates the relationship where another story becomes possible.

And sometimes changing the story about what somebody believes they can do can change what becomes possible next.

Ngawilyi Narrative brings story, relationship, culture, mentoring and everyday experiences together around what matters to the person.

Healing through story. Strength through connection.

Ngawilyi Narrative

Healing through story. Strength through connection.

An emerging Aboriginal-owned narrative therapy, mentoring, movement and community organisation, walking alongside children, young people, families and carers. Our Aunties are narrative therapists — blending therapy, mentoring and cultural connection in one consistent relationship.

Your story belongs to you.

Ngawilyi Narrative is an emerging organisation. Programs are being shaped through community consultation. Expressions of interest and pilot partnerships are now open.

Ngawilyi means "Aunty" in Arabana language. The use of Arabana language and authorisation for this name and program has been provided through Arabana Elders and the Arabana Aboriginal Corporation. We acknowledge the Arabana people and all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we live, work and yarn, and pay respect to Elders past and present.
