Who We Support

Built around the peoplesystems often talk past.

Children and young people, parents, kinship carers, foster carers, Aboriginal communities, schools and the professionals around them — each met with warmth, respect and plain English.

01

Children & Young People

You are more than your behaviour, and more than what has happened to you. Ngawilyi is a place where what you know matters — where someone walks beside you, listens properly, and helps your knowledge help others.

02

Parents & Families

Support that doesn't start with judgement. Yarns, practical help, family sessions and someone in your corner when systems feel overwhelming — working toward your family's hopes, not someone else's checklist.

03

Kinship Carers

Kinship carers carry enormous cultural, family, employment, financial and caring responsibilities — often with little formal support. Ngawilyi gives particular recognition to that load, with practical help (like support after a suspension call) that protects placements and livelihoods.

04

Foster Carers

Support for the relationship between you and the child in your care — understanding behaviour through story and context, without ever positioning carers as therapists.

05

Aboriginal Communities

Ngawilyi is Aboriginal-owned and being built with community, not delivered to it. We support connection back to family, kin, Elders, community, Country and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations.

Schools & Educators

A relational bridge for students disengaging or repeatedly suspended — education advocacy, alternative engagement and practical support that keeps learning connected to life.

Professionals & Services

Not another silo. Ngawilyi works alongside specialist, statutory, clinical and cultural services — one consistent relationship that helps all the other supports hold together.

Ngawilyi Narrative

Healing through story. Strength through connection.

An emerging Aboriginal-owned narrative therapy, mentoring, movement and community organisation, walking alongside children, young people, families and carers. Our Aunties are narrative therapists — blending therapy, mentoring and cultural connection in one consistent relationship.

Your story belongs to you.

Ngawilyi Narrative is an emerging organisation. Programs are being shaped through community consultation. Expressions of interest and pilot partnerships are now open.

Ngawilyi means "Aunty" in Arabana language. The use of Arabana language and authorisation for this name and program has been provided through Arabana Elders and the Arabana Aboriginal Corporation. We acknowledge the Arabana people and all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we live, work and yarn, and pay respect to Elders past and present. Ngawilyi Narrative does not claim cultural authority for other Aboriginal Nations.
